Updates! 12.30.2011 NEW DESIGN: After 4 years I decided to switch up the site's design a little. I hope you like the new look. There will be more site improvements and additions in the new year. 10.14.2011 This Week in Last Minute Updates: I'm part of two events during the ongoing Mohu Festival. Mohu is a 9 day-long arts festival happening all over Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties. Jen Wojtowicz (my favorite artist) and I are featured artists at Bonobo Cafe, 174 Madison Ave, Albany NY. There will be music by talented emcee, Oddy Gato tonight during 1st Friday (which doesn't actually occur on the first friday). I also have a couple pieces in a group show, The Artists' I, featuring the artists of Black Dimensions in Art, at the New York State Museum on the Fourth Floor Terrace Gallery. The show will be up until this weekend. There will also be a concert by the Empire State Youth Orchestra Jazz Ensemble from 1-2 pm on October 15 (my birthday) in the museum's Adirondack Hall.
08.19.2011 ART EXHIBIT: My wife and I are the featured artists at Artcentric this month. The opening reception will take place on Troy Night Out, Friday, August 26th, from 5 to 9 pm. Iron Lion (red), Pride and The Box are two of the new pieces that I'll be showing. Artcentric Gift Gallery is located at 274 River Street, Troy, NY. Hope to see you there! 08.13.2011 Adia's Angel is a painting that is dedicated to my soon-to-be-born second daughter, Adia-Rose, who is due in November. I painted a guardian angel for her as I did for her older sister when we were expecting her. Adia's Angel is one of the paintings hanging in the windows of Grand Street Community Arts for the Boarded Up program. If you're in the Albany area come out to GSCA on Friday, September 2 for the fourth annual Boarded Up Exhibit and Auction. GSCA is located at 68 Grand Street, Albany, NY. 06.20.2011 TAYLOR MURAL PREVIEW: In 2010 the folks at Troy Alley Action and the tenants association of Troy's Taylor Apartments asked me to design a mural and assist members of the community in painting it. During the winter students from Troy's School 1 after school program got very involved. Assisted by their incredible history teacher, Rita Cao-Garcia, they contributed words and ideas which would become vital parts of the mural. Last Friday we had an amazing day of painting. The energy that the kids brought to the mural helped take it to the next level. I'm happy to say that the mural is almost finished. I will post photos of the entire wall (which is at least 100 feet long) when it's finished, but for now, here are some photos I took last Friday of the work in progress.
